Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is something that has been in the news and on people’s lips for a while now. One person that has been working on AI is Anthony Constantinou .

As Head of Bayesian Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary University, Anthony Constantinou is also a lecturer and Assistant Professor.

He obtained his Masters of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Hertfordshire, England.

Whereas many of us tend to think of AI as a robot taking over the world, and wreaking havoc on society, the use of AI comes in many and different forms.

Anthony Constantinou used Bayesian probability models to predict the outcomes of Association Football matches in England. His model was on a par with all bookmakers’ performances. This was just one small point in which artificial intelligence was used for experimental purposes.

There are many other applications for Anthony Constantinou’s use of Bayesian Artificial Intelligence and his computer models. It is not just for predicting the outcomes of a series of games. See This Page for related information.

Anthony Constantinou believes that Bayesian models of probability, when properly used by a computer, can more readily and correctly diagnose the outcome of a hospital patient’s needs and prognosis. Further, he believes that by using his model, doctors will be able to predict, with proper input, a patient’s likelihood of acquiring a given disease from the use of genetic data.

He has been published in the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine.

There are many other possible uses for this branch of AI studied by Anthony Constantinou. We will doubtlessly be hearing much more from him in the near future.
