DUA LIPA WORE A SHEER BEDAZZLED DRESS FOR A SURPRISE PERFORMANCE IN TIMES SQUARE

ELLE cover star Dua Lipa is booked and busy. On May 4, the singer hosted Saturday Night Live and performed as the musical guest. And last night, during her stay in New York City, she performed at a surprise pop-up concert in Times Square to promote her new album, Radical Optimism. For the spontaneous show, Lipa wore a sheer black maxi dress embellished with sequins and a pair of black ultra-platform boots. Because the weather was chilly and rainy, she topped off her look with a black leather trench coat. Her dyed red hair added a pop of color to her otherwise monochromatic look. Even her nails were painted a glossy black hue.

“Wow, you guys are amazing, thank you so much, what an unbelievable evening,” she told the crowd, per Billboard. “Thank you for showing up. Thank you for braving the rain and the cold. I even saw you take your top off! It’s getting hot in here, innit?”

She also reportedly called her trip “the most New York experience of all-time.”

As for Lipa’s Saturday Night Live appearance, she delivered her monologue in a black form-fitting mock-neck dress with long sleeves and a high leg slit.

“Thank you very much. My name is Dua Lipa, or as some people call me, Dula Peep,” she joked, referencing what Wendy Williams mistakenly called her. “But Dua Lipa is my real name. ‘Dua’ is Albanian for ‘Love,’ and ‘Lipa’ is Albanian for...my last name.”

“I actually made my US TV debut eight years ago downstairs on The Tonight Show, she shared. “So this building does feel a lot like home.”
