KROGER, WALT DISNEY EXPLORE RETAIL-STREAMING PARTNERSHIP - REPORT

Kroger (NYSE:KR) and Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS) are exploring a streaming deal, according to a report by Bloomberg News.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the news outlet reported on Wednesday that the companies are in talks to bring the Disney+ streaming service to the food retailer's grocery delivery program, called Kroger Boost.

If the talks come to fruition, Kroger Boost members could start having access to the streaming service this year at no additional cost, the report said.

The latest push comes as retailers look at additional avenues to drive revenue growth and generate customer loyalty.

Walmart (WMT) added a new streaming benefit for its Walmart+ members in 2022, when it started offering a Paramount+ Essential (PARA) subscription at no extra cost. Maplebear (CART), doing business as Instacart, also started offering Comcast’s (CMCSA) Peacock streaming service for its paid subscribers late last year.
