LAINEY WILSON WILL TELL HER STORY OF PERSEVERANCE IN ‘BELL BOTTOM COUNTRY' SPECIAL

Lainey Wilson is reflecting on her journey in Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country, a new special about the country star's life and success, set to release on Hulu on May 29.

"I experienced a lot of rejection, a lot of heartbreak," says Wilson in the trailer. "I'm a tough woman but it's not easy I have my days where you got to do whatever you can to crawl out of those dark holes."

The special - produced by Robin Roberts' production unit at ABC News Studios-is set to capture Wilson's story of getting to Nashville and feeling like a "fish out of water" while pursuing her career in country music. "I remember sitting out in this camper trailer, crying my eyes out, thinking, ‘Is it ever going to happen?'" Wilson says. But momma and daddy didn't raise a quitter."

The trailer captures Wilson's reaction to online detractors, winning Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards, and wiping tears as she thinks about her father's health struggles. Roberts interviews Wilson for the special, while Jonathan Blakely is the executive producer and Katie Conway senior produces it.

"I look forward to telling stories about talented women who are strong and authentic," Roberts said in a press release. "Lainey is definitely one of those women, and I can't wait to share her uplifting story with audiences around the world."

Wilson had a massive last two years. In 2023, she earned the Entertainer of the Year trophy, four ACM Awards, two CMT Awards, and also took home a Grammy for Best Country Album thanks to her fall 2022 LP, Bell Bottom Country.
