AIRBNB BRINGS ANIMATED HOME INTERIORS TO LIFE IN ‘ICONS' EXPERIENCES INSPIRED BY ‘UP,' ‘X-MEN 97' AND MORE WITH IMMERSIVE STAYS AROUND THE WORLD

Airbnb is launching a new staying experience this summer with Icons. The exclusive experiences feature homes designed and inspired by films, TV and music. The homestay company is introducing 11 locations and activations, with more to come as summer approaches.

Among the places, Airbnb will feature elevated experiences at the sites like the Musée d'Orsay and Prince's "Purple Rain" house. The Icons experience also features some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including a night at Kevin Hart's Coramino Live Lounge, where the comedian's secret speakeasy will feature stand-up comedy and tequila tasting.

Guests can literally stay up in the air in a real-life version of the "Up" house from Disney's 2009 animated movie - the home, which will be located in New Mexico, will be erected by cranes. In Westchester, New York, guests can stay in a version of Marvel Animation's X-Mansion, inspired by the "X-Men '97" animated series. Other Icons experiences also include a performance from Doja Cat.

Of the locations featured in the Icons experience, the Musée d'Orsay will allow renters to stay in the Paris art museum's iconic clock room, which will be transformed into a luxurious bedroom designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, who helmed the creation of the Paris 2024 Games torch and cauldron. The historic Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games can be seen from the terrace along the River Seine.

"Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination - until now," said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO. "As life becomes increasingly digital, we're focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we've created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth."

The Icons experience with Airbnb is displayed in its own category on the homepage of Airbnb's official website. Most Icons are free, and all are priced under $100 per guest. A countdown displays the time until each Icon goes live. The Musée d'Orsay location, for example, won't go live until May 21. Guests can request to book through the app.

Guests who are selected for a stay at the Icons location and experience will receive a digital golden ticket. More than 4,000 tickets will be available in 2024.
