Renovia Inc. to continue with production of pelvic disorder products under the direction of Marc Beer after the success of Series B round funding

Urinary incontinence is just an example of some of the pelvic disorders that millions of women across the world have had to bear with, in the past decades. However, there is now a light at the end of the tunnel, after Renovia Inc. a Boston based pharmaceutical company announced its plans to continue with the production of various pelvic floor disorder medications. This announcement came after it successfully closed its Series B round funding with $32 million in funding and another $10 million in venture debt.


The success of the series B round funding can be attributed to the fact that it’s first pelvic disorder product, dubbed Leva managed to gain FDA approval and is doing pretty well since it entered the market in April. Some of the companies which took part in Series B round include the renowned healthcare investment firm, Longwood fund.


Commenting on the matter, Renovia Inc’s Chief executive officer, Marc Beer said that through the support of Longwood Fund, Renovia’s vision will now turn into reality as both companies share the same concept, which is; improving the lives of millions of women across the world who suffer silently due to pelvic disorders. He further added that besides sharing the same vision, both Renovia and Longwood Fund boast top-shelf sensor technologies and all the resources relevant to the project. In respect to this, it will now be possible for them to provide valuable treatment options to their clientele and at the same time create easy access to pelvic disorder information hence enable the patients and the affected gain a deeper understanding of these disorders. According to Marc Beer, this will go a long way in cutting the long-term health care costs associated with conditions such as Urinary incontinence among many other pelvic disorders.



Longwood’s funding in Series B round will go a long way in enabling Renovia to come up with better products for the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic disorders as it will allow renovia to gain access to all the resources it requires for the development and testing of new products. ecoPayz products are offered by PSI Pay which has become Western Union’s first United Kingdom-based online Agents. E-money depends on government regulation and is equal to fiat current exchanged in electronic form. This integration will create a way for a new class of online payment processors to join the global Western Union Company. ecoPayz customers are now able to top up funds online via the Western Union website and applications. Adding on to that, customers in the U.K. can send domestic or international currency seamlessly through their ecoAccounts into whomever bank account of their choosing or for payout in cash.

There are also talks to expand Western Union services to ecoPayz’ mobile application and enable the worldwide community to send money more globally. This is currently only possible in the United Kingdom. Nearly thirty percent of banking customers are using products and services from the non-traditional firms. This will open up and enable customers to have more flexibility with their money and their accounts.

Nearly One in Five Women are Estimated to Have a Disability Worldwide


An estimated one billion people in the world have a form of disability. Of these people, 15 percent of these people have either blind or visual impairment – roughly 285 million. Going further, within this population, 35 million are totally blind and two-thirds of this group are women. Unfortunately, a good portion of these women live in lower-income countries and face daily discrimination because of their sex, as well as their impairment. Overall, humanitarian organizations such as Sightsavers focuses on helping this mass population of people in need, and continue to strive to provide the help and care they need to have promising and impactful lives.

Herbalife is a multilevel marketing corporation that develops, markets and sells personal care products and sports nutrition in America. It is a company that was founded by entrepreneur Mark Hughes in 1980 and has around 7,800 employees worldwide.

Herbalife is located in the Cayman Islands in Los Angeles. It operates in 95 countries worldwide through a network of 3.2 million distributors. The founder Mark Hughes idea of starting was born when his mother passed on because of an unhealthy approach to weight loss and an eating disorder. Being a thriving company, complaints and challenges started in 1982. They were accused of including linseed oil, misleading medical claims in adverts and also making inflated claims about the efficiency of its products. The lawsuit by California’s Attorney general made them spend $850,000, lay off 800 employees and post a loss of $3million due to the negative publicity.

On 20th May 2000, Mark Hughes died at the age of 44 after an accidental overdose of alcohol and doxepin, an anti-depressant. Christopher Pair led the company till October 2001. It was then acquired by JH Whitney & company and Golden Gate Capital for $685 million which took it private again.

Herbalife went through several changes after the new ownership with new expertees joining while others resigning. They upgraded, signed new deals and repurchased new stock.

In the year 2017, it had a net income of $214million and earned a revenue of $4.43 billion.

In 2018, Herbalife changed its name to Herbalife Nutrition Ltd. It also announced that its shareholders had approved a two for one stock split.

In an April 2, 2018 blog post on her site, Roseann offered advice on “How to Actually Support Women in the Workplace.” She notes that the struggle for equality for women in the workplace is an ongoing struggle. Parts of the struggle are quite visible, like equal pay, and other components are less tangible like the lack of respect some women face at work.

The first suggestion is to set diversity goals. Roseann Bennett notes that some big corporations have already done this.

Next, she says to be transparent about the actual implementation and status of diversity goals.

Third, she notes that men and women experience the workplace differently. Part of the problem is historical cultural biases that are easy to overlook.

Fourth, she says, “Hire more women.” And recognize companies may need to recruit women differently. Roseann believes that hiring more women is the morally correct course and that it is also a smart thing for a business to do.

Lastly, Roseann Bennett admonishes us to, “Never stop the dialogue.” While some may brush off talk of equality as inconsequential chatter, Roseann warns that some women see failure to continue the discussion as a sign that the company doesn’t care.

Born in 1947, Igor Cornelsen is a well-known investment banker. He attended Federal University of Parana originally to pursue an engineering degree but after his second year, he found he had more of a passion for economics.

He gets excited about finding an investment before others and understands that ideologies is not good for investors. One way he does this is through taking things from a non-biased standpoint. He finds this is important for young investors as well.

Igor Cornelsen is an investor who believes in following the non-biased news as closely as possible and making sure to trust facts and not opinions and his ability to move up quickly in his industry through the years shows that he may be on to something big.
